Principal
The Division, with its office in the City of Leduc, serves approximately 4,700 students in 12 schools that are in the communities of Leduc, Beaumont, Drayton Valley, Wetaskiwin, Ponoka and Lacombe. St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Schools is seeking a visionary leader, willing to work as a valued member of the administrative team, to fill the position of Principal within the STAR Catholic School Division.
The ideal candidate will:
- Nurture a Christ-centred catholic community committed to the highest quality education for its students.
- Model a lifestyle and deportment consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church, practicing faith through regular mass attendance and participation in ministries and the sacramental life of the Church.
- Develop their faith and that of their staff so as to lead students and others closer to Christ.
- Demonstrate commitment to strengthening the relationship between school, family and parish.
- Build trust and foster positive working relationships within the school community on the basis of appropriate values and ethical foundations.
- Involve the school community in creating and sustaining shared vision, mission, values, principles and goals.
- Nurture and sustain a school culture that values and supports learning.
- Ensure that each student has access to quality teaching and the opportunity to engage in quality learning experiences.
- Promote the development and leadership capacity within the school community for the overall benefit of the school community and education system.
- Manage school operations and resources to ensure a safe, caring, and effective learning environment.
- Understand and appropriately respond to the political, social, economic, legal and cultural contexts impacting the school.
