Who we are looking for

OVERVIEW:

Oversee operations of the team in timely and accurate completion of financial statements and reports in accordance with IFRS, NI81-106 and other Canadian regulations for mutual fund and institutional clients.

Coordinate and plan client deliverables and ensure quality standards are met.

Support and execute corporate strategies, design and implement operating models.

Own client relationships and act as subject matter expert on financial reporting services.

What you will be responsible for

As a Financial Reporting Assistant Vice President, you will

  • Manage the preparation of quarterly, semi-annual and annual financial statements for a variety of Fund structures and IFRS and NI 81-106 regulations.
  • Oversee relationships and support the client service team as subject matter expert in financial reporting services.
  • Primary owner of external and internal audits.
  • Regular review on regulatory changes and industry practices. Proactively assess and communicate client impacts.
  • Design operating models and standard procedures and controls, staff training and development, performance reviews and others as required.
  • Lead and manage technology enhancement projects and process improvement initiatives to reduce operational risks, increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • As required, supporting VP, Financial Reporting in the completion of RFP and participate in sale presentation to existing clients and external prospects.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • University/College degree
  • CPA/CFA designation preferred
  • 6-8 years experience in the investment fund industry with financial reporting experience required
  • Experience in preparation and review of investment fund financial statements
