Position Purpose:

The Plant Supervisor II will supervise the safe and efficient handling and processing of regulated medical waste. This position ensures the plant consistently meets regulatory and safety compliance measures and operates in a productive and profitable manner.

Key Job Activities:
  • Selects, trains, and develops a safe, effective and efficient staff.
  • Ensures the plant meets regulatory and safety compliance measures and operates productively and profitably.
  • Maintain overall cost control of the plant. Ensures continuous improvement and productivity standards and worker safety performance in all operation phases.
  • Interface proactively with personnel to achieve business goals.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, either internally or externally.
  • Initiate actions to ensure timely resolution of identified hazards, unsafe conditions, or practices.
  • Train off all new plant workers and monthly training of current plant personnel.
  • Perform periodic facility audits, and review all applicable regulatory paperwork, e.g., biological testing, WW testing, etc.).
  • Provides for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Requested skills

Experience (North America & LATAM):

•    4th class power engineer certificate (preferred) 
•    3+ Years of Experience in a manufacturing setting, 1+ years experience managing staff, preferably in a plant or manufacturing environment
•    Identifies major activities of and services provided by the operations function
•    Locates and interprets standard and management reports on plant activities
•    Describes characteristics of a well-run manufacturing plant
•    Knowledge of barcode scanning and basic computer skills
•    Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations
•    Ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift (preferred)
•    Ability to perform functions safely, productively and according to policies & procedures
