Sturgeon Public School Division is currently seeking two qualified full-time Educational Assistants (EA2) for a work assignment at our Guthrie School.

Guthrie School, located just minutes north of the cities of Edmonton and St. Albert, sits on CFB Edmonton Garrison military base. It serves Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-9, with an approximate total population of 270 students and 50 staff. Guthrie School encourages students to be critical thinkers, engaged in their own learning environment, and creative with their problem solving. Guthrie School gives students the skills and knowledge to reach their full potential. This assignment is subject to change based on operational requirements.

FTE: 1.0 FTE; 6.5 hrs/day; Full-Time Temporary

Initial Assignment: Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will work in an elementary classroom.

Qualifications & Experience: Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma or Certificate; experience working with Autistic children is an asset; CPR and First Aid are desirable. Preference given to applicants with experience and training with Autism, Behaviors and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training. Equivalencies that consist of a combination of education, knowledge, skills and abilities to formal education requirements may be considered.

Hourly Rate: $18.82 - $23.57 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
