We're looking for someone with an eye for detail and experience producing error-free reports in various formats. We want someone who is committed to innovation and supporting the vision of the Sturgeon Public School Division by maintaining the financial integrity that enables quality education.

This role of Finance Technician involves managing Accounts Receivable, assisting with Accounts Payable, performing general accounting tasks, journal entries, monthly bank and GL reconciliations while ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions. The Financial Technician is based out of our Central Office in Morinville and will work collaboratively within the Finance team to support the Division's fiscal responsibilities and maintain efficient financial practices.

What you need :

Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

2-3 years of experience in a financial or accounting role

Skill s you will have:

Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, general, and public sector accounting principles, journal entries, and bank reconciliations

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office 365 and Google Suite

High degree of accuracy in processing financial transactions, preparing journal entries, and conducting reconciliations

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders

Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate, and resolve financial issues

Willingness to collaborate and provide support to schools, departments, and other members of the Finance team

What you wi ll do:

Provide support for various financial projects and initiatives

Cross-train with team members to ensure business continuity

Issue and track charitable receipts for donations received by the Division

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and Division policies

Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations
