Job Description:

Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for a Sales & Service Assistant to join the Group Benefits Business Development area. In this role, you will be primarily accountable for providing support for business acquisition and retention activities to the Business Development team. This role will report to the Service Manager, Business Development.

What will you do?

  • Support Account Executives and Service Specialist/Consultants

  • Coordinate and respond to inquiries and requests for information from Clients, Advisors and Consultants (telephone and email inquiries and requests)

  • Data entry

  • Update and ensure internal reporting and tracking tools are maintained with accurate and up to date information

  • Compose and/or prepare various correspondence and presentations

  • Request and prepare various reports for advisors and clients

  • Order promotional and business supplies

  • Works in close collaboration with other business areas (ex. underwriting, disability, group operations, etc.)

  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail

  • Assist with compiling relevant information for renewals

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing requests/ tasks

  • Organizational skills

  • Teamwork and cooperation

  • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Understands client needs and identifies solutions to non-standard requests

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high functioning team

  • Relationship building/management skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • High School Diploma or higher and/ or 0-2 years relevant work experience in office administration and client services

  • Understanding and knowledge of the array of Group benefits products

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
