Operations Coordinator - Peri-operative Area - Temporary Full-Time 2024-10520

Summary of Duties

The Operations Coordinator for the peri-operative areas will provide operational support to the PCM by coordinating patient care and support services provided by the multi-disciplinary perioperative team, in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The Operations Coordinator, in collaboration with the PCM, will identify and resolve clinical issues related to patient flow, clinical practice, resources, conflicts, the perioperative environment, staffing levels and inter and intra-disciplinary relationships, and provide support to the perioperative staff.

This position will be responsible for coordinating efficient patient flow between SDS, OR, PACU and SSSU/HiSSSU departments within OR and Related Services. Quality improvement and data analysis to achieve benchmarks in key performance indicators such as on time starts, and PACU delays.

Qualifications/Skills

• Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
• Baccalaureate Degree in nursing completed, Masters preferred
• BCLS
• Minimum of 5 years current Peri-op experience
• 2 years’ leadership/management experience in PACU environment (can include relevant team leader experience)
• Excellent communication, facilitation, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, and organization skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of patient flow within OR and Related Services.
• Demonstrated leadership ability towards the development of Quality Improvement initiatives to address patient flow.
• Advanced computer skills and knowledge of iPro system
• Demonstrated ability to work within a busy, dynamic environment and stressful situations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement and implementation framework
