Key Accountabilities Reporting to and under the direction of the Head of Labour Relations and Health and Safety, this position will provide administrative support in the efficient operation of the departments.Keyboarding of various correspondence, reports, presentations and documents related to confidential labour relations issues, Board reports, minutes and agendas, etcProvide a broad range of administrative activities to ensure the effective day to day operations of the office, including coordinating, arranging and maintaining meeting calendars, calendar invites to internal clients and union partners, presentation, tracking follow up items to ensure actions are executed, and attending meetingsLiaise and provide information to internal stakeholders and external stakeholders as required The ability to work professionally with people both outside the organization and within various levels of the organization Support and assist in responses to enquiries and/or sensitive issues to internal/external stakeholders and take appropriate action in accordance with established procedures and guidelinesProvide administrative support to the Labour Relations and the Health and Safety teams (e.g. scheduling meetings / hearings, collecting information, updating documents, implementing settlements, etc.)Maintain and organize physical and electronic files and internal records and documents; track ongoing files and follow up with parties as requiredRecord minutes, when required, for Union-Management meetings, negotiation meetings between management and bargaining units and staff allocation committee meetings, etc;Ensure strict adherence to confidentialityPerform other duties as assigned or required Requirements Minimum two (2) years post-secondary education in Business Administration, Legal Administration or a related field and/ or a Post-secondary certificate Minimum two (2) years' work experience drafting documents as an assistant, and/or an assistant in labour relations or related experienceExperience working in labour law considered an assetMust be proficient in the use of all major computer software applications such as Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.)Experience with collective bargaining procedures is an assetKnowledge of Acts and Regulations related to Employment, Education, Health & Safety, and Human Rights is an assetExceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, strong attention to detail and maintain a high level of diplomacy and confidentialityDemonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and deal with competing demands, deadlines, and interruptionsProven independent problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively prioritize workEffective verbal and written communication skillsThis is a non-union Level 10 position with a salary range of $ 69 , 596 - $ 86,994 along with comprehensive benefits including pension plan, vacation, and professional development opportunities.Who We Are Our mission at TCDSB is to inspire learning in every way and support our students and employees.
