With a staff of 14,000, the TCDSB is a dynamic school board and is seeking a full-time Truck Driver within the Warehouse Distribution department.

Hours are from 7.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. (Hours of work will fall within the day shift band and may change consistent with the collective agreement. Hours to be confirmed upon hire.)
Flexible home base, to be determined by management, based on system needs.
Written and practical tests will be facilitated to short listed candidates.
Key A ccountabilities
Pickup and delivery of mail, furniture, supplies and miscellaneous equipment to and from schools, offices, suppliers, etc.
Provide furniture moving services within board sites
Load and unload assigned vehicle in accordance with delivery route
Maintain a clear driving record, adhere to all requirements of the Highway Traffic Act.
Adhere to TCDSB Board Vehicle Policy and Operating Procedures
Maintain vehicles in clean and safe condition and report all mechanical defects to supervisor
Maintain working areas within warehouse in a clean and safe condition.
Any other related duties as assigned or required
Qualifications
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent; candidates must submit proof of OSSD
Minimum Two (2) years recent commercial driving experience and valid Ontario Driver's DZ license (vehicle with air brake system); candidates must submit their driver's license and have access to a reliable automobile.
*If candidates are selected for an interview, they must submit proof of good driving record before the interview. The Board will be conducting a COVR search as part of the recruitment process.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Good physical and manual dexterity and ability to lift heavy equipment such as floor polishers, computers, multi-piece shipments, etc.
A thorough knowledge of the streets of Metropolitan Toronto
Ability to work independently and available to work overtime as required
This is a CUPE Local 4400 union position with a pay rate of $ 28 . 4 0 /H r .
