Description
Nagwuntl’oo School is currently seeking applications for certified Primary Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year. The school is on Ulkatcho First Nation Territory, Anahim Lake, B.C.
Our small community of Anahim Lake, and the surrounding area has a population of approximately 1500 people. Ulkatcho First Nation membership is 1100, with 500 living on reserve in the community.
The responsibilities and expectation of the Primary teacher
Be a great communicator who perseveres when faced with challenges.
Build collaborative and effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Previous experience in a First Nations community
Possess solid instructional skills and be capable of delivering BC Ministry of Education curriculum in a responsive manner.
Be flexible, patience and student focus.
Willingness to become involved in extra curricular activities.
Foster a dynamic classroom engaging students where they learn as proud Ulkatchot’en children, building their confidence and expertise in a variety of ways.
Provide supervision and classroom management.
Provide direction to the classroom assistant.
Establish and modify Independent educational programs.
Exceptional problem-solving strategies
Energetic and motivated to perform the responsibilities of this position.
Excellent record keeping and filing.
To develop and maintain effective educational programs within his/her school and to promote the improvement of teaching and learning within his/her school.
Keep informed of developments in the field by attending seminars, workshops, etc.
Accountability:
This person reports to and works under the principal of Nagwuntl’oo School.

Bachelor of Education
B.C. certified teacher or the ability to obtain B.C. certification.
