The Communications Specialist, reporting to the Manager of Research Communications, will be responsible for developing various strategic and operational communications materials (electronic, print, and other media) involving complex scientific information, health/medical research, strategic initiatives, and/or research operations within the Science & Research portfolio. These materials will include research stories, operational updates, newsletters, annual reports, videos, social media posts, internal briefing notes, and more; and will be for various audiences, including the public, the medical and scientific community, administrators, external partners, and leaders and executives.

The Research Strategy department is responsible for supporting strategic planning and the implementation of strategic research initiatives; communicating research advancements, research impact, strategic priorities, operational updates, and more to internal and external audiences to increase knowledge of, collaboration with, and investment in the UHN research enterprise; developing corporate funding proposals; administering grant applications; and supporting the Office of the Executive Vice President, Science & Research. The individual will work collaboratively with peers in the department, with research teams, and with operational teams to support these various functions.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with research experience who want to gain more experience in developing, strategically positioning, editing, and disseminating scientific documents for different audiences.
