Job Summary
The Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at the University Health Network is comprised with 9 full time staff members and 12 associate or part-time members. The Department has 36 Surgical beds with 4 step down beds and serves approximately 20,000 ambulatory care visits per annum. The Department has 3 endowed Chairs with a total endowment of 11 million dollars. In addition, almost 3,000 students and residents receive their training at UHN each year.
The University Health Network and the University of Toronto are seeking a proven academic leader to take a large academic and clinical Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery service forward. A proven academic surgeon, strong negotiator and visionary leader with a demonstrated track record of success in a formal leadership role and in leading change within a complex environment, you will build on the accomplishments of our Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. The Department’s substantial success in research and education is backed by mature academic practice plans and several endowed chairs. Supporting our vision of ‘global impact’, you are committed to innovation, innovative practice and the creation of environments in which these qualities are valued.
The successful candidate must be someone with established academic credentials to direct the clinical, education and research endeavors of the department, who is also able to entertain innovative and creative solutions. He/she will be expected to stimulate clinical science and maintain a strong relationship with the University of Toronto Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery.
