The Department of Clinical Studies at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

Applicants must have a DVM (or equivalent) and be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in the Province of Ontario and be a Diplomate of the American or European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Large Animals (ACVIM or ECVIM). Possession of a graduate level degree is preferable. Experience working and teaching DVM students in an academic referral hospital is desirable. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in the clinical practice of large animal internal medicine and outstanding teaching and communications skills.

The successfull candidate will work with four other board certified Large Animal Internal Medicine specialists to provide didactic and clinical instruction in large animal internal medicine to veterinary students, interns, residents, and graduate students. Service activities will include management of patients and consultation in the OVC Health Sciences Centre including shared on-call duties. The remaining effort is to be spent on scholarly activity including research and graduate student supervision. Independent research or research of a collaborative nature is expected.

The OVC Health Sciences Centre offers state of the art diagnostic equipment including but not limited to a 1.5 Tesla high field General Electric MRI, CT, digital radiology, PACS system, state of the art ultrasonography, scintigraphy and videoendoscipic equipment. Facilities include a world-class large animal isolation unit. Transvenous elecctrocardioversion is routinely performed for treatment of equine atrial fibrillation. The faculty and staff of the Department of Clinical Studies and the OVC-HSC are committed to delivering the very best of patient care.
