General Purpose
The Front Desk Clerk plays a key role in campus safety dispatch, residence admissions, and student engagement. This role requires crisis management skills, administrative expertise, customer service, and social media proficiency. The position ensures smooth front desk operations, provides information and referrals, manages access control, and supports marketing initiatives for the Student and Hospitality Experience department.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Campus Safety Dispatch & Crisis Response: Manage emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch resources, document incidents, and control building access.
- Residence Admissions & Housing Management: Oversee StarRez applications, room assignments, special accommodations, and liaise with students and departments.
- Customer Service & Front Desk Operations: Serve as the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors, process key requests, mail, and financial transactions.
- Marketing & Communications: Create and manage social media content, design promotional materials, and oversee residence publications.
- Student Support & Information Referrals: Provide accurate campus information, connect students with appropriate resources, and support engagement initiatives.
Requirements
- Two-year college diploma in a relevant field preferred and one year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong crisis management, organization, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, StarRez, Adobe, Canva, and social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Experience in residence admissions, housing, or student affairs.
- Knowledge of access control systems, emergency response, and dispatch operations.
