Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Associate Director, Capital Development, in the Campus Planning, Design and Development Department, Physical Resources, the successful candidate will be responsible for overall management and leadership for the delivery of complex small to large capital and renovation projects. The incumbent will: provide project management and construction co-ordination expertise for multiple design and construction projects and their respective client relationships; ensure that each project remains on budget and on schedule; ensure compliance with applicable University and government policies, procedures, regulations and guidelines; and will be responsible for other associated duties as assigned.

Requirements

An undergraduate degree in architecture or engineering or a related discipline, combined with a minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in the planning and delivery of institutional projects. Candidates must have experience in financial analysis, project cost control and critical path scheduling. Candidates must also demonstrate an ability to manage and direct professional consulting teams. Strong project management experience, including the ability to define and meet project objectives, together with highly developed analytical and negotiating skills are necessary for this role.

Preference will be given to individuals who either have or are eligible to obtain membership in the Ontario Association of Architects or the Association of Professional Engineers; or MAATO, CET, or a PMP designation with extensive experience in design and construction of buildings.
