NIGHT SCHOOL S.T.R.O.N.G. PROGRAM TEACHER

LOCATIONS: Tri-City Training Martial Arts Center (175 Dawson Rd, Guelph)

RATE of PAY: $62.66 per hour

DATES & HOURS: Wednesdays starting October 9, 2024 for 9 weeks (5 hours/week)

FEDERATION AFFILIATION: While performing this position, you are a member of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation representing the District 18 Teachers’ Bargaining Unit. Union dues will apply.

COURSES:

• PAI3O/4O (Girls - 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm; Guys - 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm)

• PFL4M (Girls - 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm; Guys - 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm)

JOB SUMMARY:

S.T.R.O.N.G. is a program targeted towards students who are interested in exploring their personal strength and gaining confidence in themselves through Martial Arts and Fitness. There will be a martial arts component as well as a focus on healthy active living, wellbeing, recovery methods, positive stress management, and leadership skills. Students will benefit from developing and building stress management techniques, resilience and leadership skills, while exploring the benefits of health and wellbeing through martial arts and the techniques of self-defense. An introduction to Tai Chi, Karate (Goju Ryu), Judo/Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and strength and conditioning will be included in the program.
