As a Maintenance Power Engineer 3rd Class you will:
- Operate, maintain, repair and modify elements, components and appliances associated with the steam distribution, steam condensate, hot water heating, heating ventilation and air conditioning, medical air/vacuum, mechanical power generation systems and other related equipment of the facility at a 3rd Class Power Engineer’s level in conformance with accepted regulatory codes, Worksafe BC regulations and established Hospital policies and procedures.
- This position may also work within the VGH Energy Centre, as required.
Education & Experience
- Education & Experience Certificate of competency as a 3rd Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of BC.
- Four (4) years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
