Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Clinic Clerk to join the Cardiopulmonary Management team at Richmond Hospital in Richmond, BC. Apply today to join our team!
As a Clinic Clerk with VCH you will:
- Work as a member of an integrated team and play a significant role in ensuring that clients/patients have a positive experience with the designated services within a fast paced, high volume booking environment.
- Provide clerical functions such as typing a variety of technical and non-technical materials in support of the delivery of client/patient care, utilize computer applications such as MS Word, MS Excel and database software programs such as Patient Care Information System (PCIS).
- Perform duties including: scheduling a variety of client/patient appointments, rearranging schedules to meet changing demands/requests, preparing and confirming accuracy of client/patient information, maintaining client/patient charts, entering data into a variety of computerized database software, and compiling statistical information.
- Answer the phone and respond to routine messages or forward callers to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain departmental equipment, supplies and filing systems.
Education & Experience
- Grade 12, two year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to keyboard at 45 wpm.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
