Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Radiological Technologist to join the General Radiology team at Vancouver General Hospital. Apply today to join our team!

As a Radiological Technologist 3 with VCH you will:

  • Work in a team-based environment and is responsible for coordinating training activities for radiological technology students/staff within a designated modality within Medical Imaging.
  • Perform duties including;
    • instructing students/staff in technical and diagnostic procedures,
    • implementing an evaluation system to evaluate student/staff progress during clinical training,
    • acting as a liaison between academic institutions and departmental personnel,
    • maintaining various training records and manuals and performing technical functions when required.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Certification with the CAMRT.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ recent, related clinical experience in the designated medical imaging modality, including one (1) year experience in a supervisory or teaching capacity, supplemented by successful completion of recognized clinical instruction courses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice for the designated medical imaging modality including applicable procedures and processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with medical imaging equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS), i.e. digital imaging, image archiving and retrieval.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with co-workers, medical personnel, other health care staff and students, both one-to-one and in-groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop training manuals, instructional material, examinations and assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and train staff and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and to establish workload prioritizes in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement training plans.
  • Demonstrated ability in CPR techniques.
  • Demonstrated continuous education pathway.
  • Skill in the use of equipment, and in techniques appropriate to area of speciality.
  • Ability to operate related equipment including software applications.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
