Come work as Operational Stress Injury (OSI) Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

There are positions located in VCH offices in both Vancouver and Victoria.

As a Operational Stress Injury (OSI) Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will:

  • Provide direct patient care including diagnostic assessments, assessments for disability, and ongoing treatment for CAF members, veterans, and RCMP within the context of a multidisciplinary team/program. Use of our electronic medical records system and computer skills are required.
  • Attend staff meetings, quality improvement reviews, and comply with VCHA medical staff rules, by-laws and policies.
  • Be required to travel occasionally to provide outreach services within BC.

  • The Clinic provides specialized mental health services to clients and their families referred by Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Department of National Defense (DND) who are experiencing problems due to work-related psychological trauma and stress (e.g. post-traumatic stress disorder and other anxiety disorders; depression; chronic pain; addiction etc.).
  • The services of the OSI clinics are provided by an interdisciplinary team of psychiatry, psychology, nursing, social work and external contracted specialists.
  • The clinic is funded by VAC and is operated by VCHA which provides services across BC and in the Yukon.
Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience:

  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) - Full
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) - Mandatory
