Department mission

The mission of the Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department is to provide quality services, programs and facilities that promote the maximum participation and integration of all Pointe-Claire citizens. This department can count on a qualified and professional workforce dedicated to the quality of life of Pointe-Claire citizens.


General responsibilities and objectives of the position

Work is performed under general supervision and following the jobholder’s complete, established instructions. The jobholder must demonstrate initiative, respect, and honesty because most of their work is done without supervision.

• Teaching group classes in their respective field at all levels;
• Creating and preparing classes compatible with the level of participants;
• Supervising all participants and making corrections to movements as needed to avoid injuries;
• Ensuring safety for activities;
• Ensuring various policies and procedures are applied and followed at all times;
• Ensuring members are highly motivated and having fun;
• Helping provide logistical support and equipment for activities;
• Taking attendance during classes and filling out management reports needed for statistics;
• Performing any other related tasks.


Schedule:

Thursday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Friday from 10:15 am to 1:45 pm

Requested skills

High school diploma (DES). The position requires four (4) years of experience in work providing the opportunity to become familiar with the nature of the job.

• Have up-to-date CPR/AED and first-aid training;
• Be bilingual (spoken French and English);

  • Demonstrate tact, composure, and courtesy;
    • Be outgoing;
    • Have excellent motivational skills and be able to communicate with others;
    • Be organized.
