Nursing Unit Aide (2033)

JOB SUMMARY : 

The nursing unit aide is responsible for maintaining the unit’s material, keeping sufficient stocks of supplies, promoting patient comfort, and transporting patients if needed. The aide assists nursing staff with the common tasks of the unit and delivers specimens, medications, records and other items in the appropriate areas.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED);
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate or ability to obtain it within prescribed timelines;
• Transfer techniques – Block A and Block B, or ability to obtain this within prescribed timelines;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

• Physical ability to perform the assigned work;
• Good work history (performance and attendance);
• Adherence to professional ethical principles, the Network’s management philosophy, and organizational values;
• Compliance with the rules of confidentiality set by Vitalité Health Network.
