The Opportunity
A 6-12 month contract ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations, and monitoring compliance to company policies. Responsible for the administration and promotion of the company’s health and safety policies and programs.
The Role
- Conduct EHS inspections and audits of equipment and facility to ensure regulatory compliance is met.
- Perform worksite visits, job observations, and inspections with intent to coach and mentor.
- Responsible for monitoring adherence to the company health and safety program by all employees and subcontractors.
- Follows up immediately on incident reports, supporting branches in investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective measures.
- Promote H&S policies and programs.
- Respond to all enquiries from management and employees on EH&S matters and provide guidance, support and assistance as required.
- Act as EH&S resource to all management and staff.
- Collaborate with workers and leadership as required to effectively administer the EH&S program of the organization.
- Attend meetings such as daily toolbox meetings and JHSC meetings.
The Candidate
- 2- 5 Years experience in an active and dedicated Occupational Health and Safety role.
- Strong knowledge of current and relevant OH&S legislation, and industry standards.
- Previous experience in construction, mining or heavy equipment industries an asset.
- Experienced in delivering training or facilitating meetings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Competent user of common software, and able to learn other programs as needed.
- Obtained or working towards obtaining CRSP designation, or other related accreditation is an asset.
