Elementary Principal - Two (2) Positions

WCDSB is growing, and we are excited to be opening two new elementary schools in the 2025-2026 school year. We are recruiting for two (2) experienced Principals.

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 38,000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

The Board conducts intentional recruitment and selection as it seeks to achieve a state of greater equity for employees and students and to diversify its workforce.

Minimum Requirements:

Demonstrated commitment to achieving greater equity for all students.

Demonstrated commitment to fostering innovation to improve student engagement and achievement.

Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.

Hold a current Certificate of Qualification with the Ontario College of Teachers.

Completion of Part 1 of the Ontario Principal’s Qualification Program (PQP) and completion of Part 2 of the PQP or commitment to complete Part 2 by September 1, 2025.

Hold Religious Education Certificate, Part I or a Letter of Equivalency from OECTA Provincial/OCSTA.

Demonstrated successful experience as a vice-principal.

Have developed a professional portfolio tied to the Catholic School Level Leadership Framework that demonstrates a transformation of lifelong learning experience(s) to teaching and learning practices.

This position will begin in March of 2025. Must be available as required for consultation beginning January 2025.

Desirable Assets:

Master’s degree

Evidence of a clear understanding of the purpose and nature of leadership experiences in a Catholic School and in a variety of other settings

Have a good knowledge of special education policies and procedures

A copy of the candidate’s most recent Teacher Performance Appraisal or Principal Performance Appraisal.

Letters of reference from a minimum of two individuals who can provide a current professional reference (one must be the candidate’s current supervisor/principal). If a current supervisor cannot be provided, please indicate why. Additional references are welcome, including from community work.

A Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate.
