The Waterloo Catholic District School Board with a total student population of 23,000, provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12) across the Waterloo Region.

General Description of Duties:

Provide one to one and /or small group and/or class wide social/behavioural interventions and/or programming and transitional support.

Assisting, collaborating and consulting with appropriate personnel regarding the development of individualized behaviour support plans, anxiety plans and safety plans.

Attending parent meetings as deemed appropriate by the Administrator and/or Special Education program head.

Acting as a member of the Collaborative Team (CT) and attending CT meetings and Case Conferences as required.

Providing professional development to teaching staff and Educational Assistants.

Providing schools withresources and in-service related to behaviour management.

Collaborating with Special Education Program Head/ Administrator who will assignprogram direction.

Participate on the Crisis Response Team, following policies and procedures, and reporting to Board personnel and agencies.

Meet with students one-on-one, assess needs, and help develop strategies for success.

When required , work with administration to assist in creating and developing materials necessary for groups and deliver a program.

Provide 1;1 support on a short term basis at the direction of administration.

Minimum Requirements:

Child and Youth Care Worker Diploma (3 year) or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years similar work experience.

BMS (Behavioural Management System) and Applied Behaviour Analysis Training.

First Aid Certificate.

Experience supporting students with autism and/or behavioural difficulties.

Have a reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario driver’s license as travel throughout the Waterloo Region may be required.

Hourly Rate: $34.93 to $36.76 per hour

Hours of Work: Permanent Part-time, 20 hours per week

Work schedule determined by the Administrator in coordination with the Supervisor

Location: Based in Learning Services (Student Services) assigned to St. Benedict CSS

Secondary School, Cambridge, ON

Weeks/Year: Approximately 41 weeks/year
