Job Posting 25-001 100% PERMANENT SIS and Core Business Systems Supervisor Location: Central Office Start Date: asap Schedule: 34.5 hours per week Monday-Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm; Friday 8:30am-4:00pm Non-Affiliated Grade 6: Step 1 $85,194 � Step 5 $106,492 annually The Wellington Catholic DSB is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented SIS and Core Business Systems Supervisor to oversee the management, accuracy, and security of our Student Information System (SIS) and related data processes. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of IT and working closely with the SIS Lead, this key leadership role ensures the smooth operation of the SIS, supports data-driven decision-making, and provides technical expertise to staff and stakeholders. The candidate will also work on supporting core business systems that support the Board�s operations as required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT and data management, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining data integrity and compliance. This position also involves leading a team, collaborating with departments, and driving improvements in system functionality to support IT Services strategic plan. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: System Administration Manage the administration, maintenance, and operation of the Student Information System (SIS). Ensure system updates, patches, and enhancements are tested and implemented efficiently. Supervise the troubleshooting of technical issues related to student information and ancillary systems and ensure minimal downtime. Other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager IT Services Data Management Manage the accuracy, integrity, and security of student data Develop and implement data validation protocols and procedures to ensure data quality. Manage data imports, exports, and integrations with other educational platforms and systems. Work with vendors to monitor and improve system(s) performance and resilience. Reporting and Analytics Manage reporting projects to meet the needs of various stakeholders, including administrators, teachers, and external agencies. Produce data analysis to support decision-making processes at the district or school level. Team Leadership and Support Supervise and mentor IT staff responsible for data and system management. Conduct training sessions for staff and end-users on system functionality, updates, and best practices. Manage system-related inquiries and escalations. Stakeholder Collaboration Collaborate with school administrators, educators, and IT staff to understand and address data needs. Act as a liaison between the IT department and academic departments to align technology solutions with educational goals. Project Management Lead projects related to the implementation of new features, modules, or software integrations within the SIS. Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and milestones. Identify and document project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues that could impact project success. With the Senior Manager, IT Services, work with district leaders, school principals, teachers, and support staff to gather requirements, set expectations, and communicate project status and impact Policy and Compliance Ensure compliance with district policies, data privacy standards and laws, and provincial regulations. Work with Network security team to identify, establish and enforce data access controls, user roles, and permissions. Regularly review documentation related to systems, procedures, and protocols to ensure accuracy and implement changes as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor�s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field.Minimum 3 -5 years of experience in student information systems, ideally PowerSchool or similar large complex systems. Experience in supervisory or team leadership roles is preferred . Experience in identifying and analyzing business systems issues and determining root cause. Excellent computer and technical skills including the use of excel for data analysis. A minimum of 10 years� experience in a business environment with a focus on process improvement and analysis of data. Experience in core business systems including, but not limited to purchasing, accounting and capital systems. Experience in supporting system implementation and upgrades, including configuration and testing.
