Description
Program Specialist
Reporting to the Executive Superintendent of Student Achievement K-12 and the Superintendent of Education- Student Achievement K-12, the successful candidate will work with school personnel, students and parents to support positive behaviour. The successful applicant will be responsible for utilizing their behaviour and/or Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) expertise to support multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate training and resources, and facilitate collaboration between service providers and schools.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree or diploma;
ABA expertise/behaviour expertise, comprising formal education, training and practical experience;
Training in applied behaviour analysis principles from a recognized facility would be an asset;
Experience providing and/or facilitating adult learning and training;
Experience working with children and youth who have special education needs, in particular those that have autism spectrum disorders/behaviour disorders;
Knowledge of the elementary and secondary education system in Ontario;
Familiarity with special education issues, particularly those relevant for children and youth with autism spectrum disorders and behaviours;
Excellent organizational and coordinating skills;
Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion within the school system.
