Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director - Staff Development, Infection Prevention & Control, the Education Facilitator participates as an active member of the Regional Staff Development Department through collaboration in the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of regional education. This position includes resource development with elements of research application and integration, and policy and procedure development as it relates to promote an optimal standard of safety for clients and staff. The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters.

The incumbent is proactive in identifying and meeting their professional development needs, as well as those of fellow professionals within Southern Health-Santé Sud. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values; and policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Qualifications:

  • Current Active Practice Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current Instructor Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Heart and Stroke Foundation)
  • Certification in Adult Education or be willing to acquire Certification in Adult Education
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of adult education, teaching and learning strategies
  • Minimum of five (5) years full-time nursing experience in a relevant healthcare practice setting and / or professional development
  • Demonstrated leadership ability • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within team and working group structures
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve in complex situations
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and support change
  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
  • Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required
  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
  • Good work and attendance record

Conditions of Employment:

  • Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate
  • All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy.
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
