Reporting to the Director of Facility Management and/or designate, the incumbent performs installation, testing, analysis, maintenance and repair tasks of any degree of complexity on hospital buildings and grounds, building services, building service equipment and a wide variety of departmental equipment. Responds to emergency calls throughout the facility, making repairs as required in conjunction with appropriate trades where applicable.
- 3 years' experience in a variety of facets of maintenance of buildings, building services, building service equipment and departmental equipment.
- Previous experience in a health care facility would be an asset.
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards required.

- Must be capable of handling power tools and hand tools.
- Demonstrable ability to perform basic plumbing and mechanical repairs/maintenance.
- Demonstrable ability to perform basic repairs to doors (including hardware) windows, walls and floors in a commercial setting.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently.
- Ability to effectively handle emergency situations.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic ability to use Windows based software programs.
- Discreet and confidential in all Hospital, patient/resident related matters.
- Good physical and mental health to meet the position demands.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
