Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

In collaboration with MHNP team members, the Home Nutrition Support Nurse provides the nursing expertise for the MHNP. The incumbent is responsible for assessing, planning and evaluating the nutritional care of patients referred to the MHNP.

The Home Nutrition Support Nurse acts as a resource to other health care professionals including pharmacists, dietitians, social workers, physicians and nurses in the hospital or community.

The incumbent, in collaboration with the MHNP team, is also responsible for the provision of education for patients, families, other health care professionals and community groups.

Participates in the development of standards, policies and procedures, and evaluation of the MHNP for children and adults.

Experience
  • Three years recent experience in acute care nursing required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in parenteral and enteral nutrition required.
  • Pediatric and community experience is an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
  • Driver’s license and access to motor vehicle.

  • Ability to work independently and maintain professional standards.
