Job Profile:
Lions Housing Centres Inc. is recruiting for Security Guard - Casual. This position is responsible for ensuring safety and security for all residents, visitors, and staff within and surrounding areas of the premises within Lions Housing Centres Inc. defined as Lions Manor, LHC Personal Care Home, LHC Adult Day Clubs, Supportive Housing and Lions View.
Reports to: Support Services Assistant under the supervision of Support Services Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to the guard on duty at Lions Manor, residents and staff. (Regular security guard back up)
- Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons and all unauthorized vehicle parking on LHC property.

- Perform patrols at Lions Manor and Lions View buildings as per operational requirements.
- Provide safe walk assistance to all staff, especially during shift changes.
- Monitor security cameras and conduct investigations if suspicious activity was detected.
- Complete daily reports and incident reports.
- Perform wellness checks when required.
- Respond to various site emergencies (using codes, refer to Security Bible), and when required, call backup to ensure security of residents, visitors, staff, property, and information.
- Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
- Safely dispose of any biohazards or encampments found on the property.
- Training, and development of the Security Guard with the support of Safety and Security Lead and Support Services Manager

- Attendance management
- Maintains confidentiality in all matters pertaining to residents, staff, and facility operations.
- Participates in mandatory annual education.
- Work collaboratively with all staff as required.
- Follow practices in a manner that supports the Respectful Workplace Policy, the Resident Bill of Rights, and Lions Housing Centres Inc. mission, visions, and values statements at all times.

Your education and qualifications:
- Valid and up to date Manitoba security license
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Three (3) years of experience as a security guard or in a related field
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience with security surveillance systems
- Good conflict resolution skills
- Physically and mentally able to perform all job duties
- Able to read, write and speak English
- Proficient in outlook and Microsoft word
- Criminal record check and adult abuse registry check completed within last 6 months.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
Interviewed candidates may be called upon to participate in a skills assessment.
