We have an opening for a Speech-Language Pathologist at Boundary Trails Health Centre (BTHC), an acute care facility located between the communities of Winkler and Morden, in rural, picturesque southern Manitoba. In this full-time, permanent role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • collaborate with a talented inter-disciplinary team - including OTs, PTs, and Audiologists - to provide pediatric Speech-Language Pathology outpatient and community-based services, including working closely with nearby daycares and nursery schools
  • utilize a social-emotional, neuro-developmental, and play-based focused program to provide a client/family-centered approach to care
  • work in partnership with other staff to provide feeding and swallowing services for children and youth
  • anticipate providing increased feeding and swallowing services in a new Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) slated for completion in 2025

Position Overview

Reporting to the Client Services Manager - Rehabilitation Services, the SpeechLanguage Pathologist will operate with a high degree of independence as a member of a multidisciplinary regional rehabilitation team. The incumbent will participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of rehabilitation services, using a client centered, goal orientated approach for children and/or adult populations.


Experience

  • Previous experience in the field of Speech-Language Pathology preferred

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Active registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba
  • Eligibility for membership in Speech-Language and Audiology Canada


Qualifications and Skills

  • Skilled ability in the assessment, identification, and treatment of clients of varying ages and with diverse diagnoses
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent English language proficiency, both written and verbal


Physical Requirements

  • Must be in good physical and mental health and be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
  • Must be able to work under stress and time constraints.
