Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Under the general direction of the Section Head and DI Manager, the incumbent is responsible for all aspects of the two-year Ultrasound Training Program at the Health Sciences Centre (HSC) including: planning, organizing, coordination of the didactic and clinical phases of the program and related activities; preparing lectures, instructing specific units of didactic education, tutoring and counselling of students, planning, scheduling and participation in student interviews.
- Three years’ experience in a Diagnostic Ultrasound position is required. Supervisory and teaching experience preferred.
- Two-year training program in Diagnostic Ultrasound with successful completion of National Exam.
- Experience in teaching or Certificate in Education would be an asset.
- Currently registered in good standing with Sonography Canada.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is required.
- Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
- This position requires the same physical demands as Diagnostic Sonographer (i.e. considerable standing, walking, lifting equipment and patients).
- This position may be required to attend off site meetings at Red River Polytech or other hospitals within the city.
