We are currently looking for a welder to fill a permanent full-time position on the evening shift, Monday to Thursday.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT WHEN JOINING THE TEAM

Under the supervision of the Fabrication Foreman, weld and assemble parts and sub-assemblies in metal for assembly or repair of machines or equipment using welding equipment, electrical arc, MIG and TIG.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean, size and grind cracks and joints of parts using solvents, steel brushes, scissors and portable grinders to prepare for welding
  • Put asembled parts in place, join them on machined templates to prepare for final welding
  • Connect cables to electrical energy source according to proper polarity, turn on and adjust machine to give amperage and voltage according to electrode used as well as the type and thickness of the metal part to be welded
  • Obtain fusion depth specified by observing the color of the metal and the mass of melted metal, examine weld using the size of the drops and the desired penetration
  • Size and grind excess weld, slag and burrs
  • Rigorously respect quality criteria and safety standards in the execution of all tasks and complete forms required for the follow up of activities and quality control
  • Ensure regular maintenance on machines used
  • Is aware and careful of safety of self and others (health & safety)

Experience
