End User Support Specialist
One (1) Temporary Full-Time Position
Effective Immediately to February 27, 2026
Exempt Level 4 - $32.11 to $41.15 per hour
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager of Customer Service and Learning Technicians, the End User Support Specialist provides technical support to staff, students, and parents throughout the Board on various applications including but not limited to RISE, D2L/ Brightspace, and the Student Information System.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide phone and email first-level technical support through problem recognition, research, and diagnosis for resolution to various hardware and software program issues.
- Provide remote and possible onsite technical assistance and simulate user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
- Support a variety of applications including our School Information System, School Messenger, Safe Arrivals, Learnstyle/RISE, D2L/Brightspace and Laserfiche.
- Work collaboratively with our SIS (Student Information System) and Applications teams to assist staff and parents with issues arising from supported applications.
- Record, analyze, prioritize, escalate, and track issues reported to the Call Centre and determine the most effective manner to solve issues.
- Follow up with users to ensure the problem has been resolved.
- Update the Issue Tracker System with appropriate entries of activities, and close tickets with resolutions upon timely completion of the job.
- Review, recommend and develop coding and/or scripting efficiencies to automate the flow of data between systems and improve business processes.
- Contribute, develop, and make recommendations to update and improve end-user information and support documents for distribution to staff as required.
- Contribute, develop, and make recommendations to update and improve the Call Centre Website.
- Participate in end-user training initiatives, both individually and as part of a team.
- Work collaboratively with other IT department teams and school staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Advanced College Diploma in Computer Technology or related field.
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and operating systems such as Microsoft Windows, Apple OS X and iOS, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office and Office 365 in a networked environment.
- 2 years previous experience in an information systems environment.

- Superb organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze and diagnose problems with software and hardware.
- Ability to multi-task on more than one (1) application.
- Outstanding customer service and teamwork skills.
- Coding and/or Scripting experience with Java, JavaScript, VB, C#, Bootstrap, HTML an asset.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Azure is considered an asset
