Human Resources Coordinator - Support Services
Exempt Level 6 - $43.60 to $55.38 per hour
Effective Immediately to August 31, 2026
One (1) Temporary Full-Time Position
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator - Support Services plays a key role in supporting the overall operations of the HR department within an educational setting. This position is responsible for coordinating HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and professional development.
Major Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews and approve testing of candidates as well as coordinate and present job offers to assigned Support Services staff.
- Provide direct support to OSSTF Staff on Human Resources activities such as recruitment, selection, staffing and general HR related inquiries.
- Provide coaching, counselling and advice to assigned staff on various employee relations issues, conflict resolution and career development.
- Provide guidance and support to Principals and Managers regarding recruitment, staffing, performance management as well as the interpretation and application of collective agreements Board policies and procedures for Support Services staff.
- Develop, coordinate, implement and maintain various HR related memos, documents, processes and procedures as they pertain to the Support Services Staff.
- Provide guidance and support to external agencies regarding various recruitment activities.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
- Assist in resolving employee concerns, escalating issues as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Advanced College Diploma or University Degree or equivalent with a focus in Human Resources Management or related discipline.
- 3 to 4 years of previous work experience within a unionized environment.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Experience using SAP.
