Manager of Human Resources Information Systems

Exempt Level 7A (Salary $116,189 to $137,072 per annum)

Position Summary :

Under the direction of the Superintendent of Human Resources, the Manager of Human Resources Information Systems oversees the management, development and ongoing maintenance of Human Resources Information Systems.

The Manager of Human Resources Information Systems also leads and oversees the implementation of system impacts related to collective agreements changes, revised legislation and Ministry directive.

Major Responsibilities :

Manage, motivate and lead a team of Human Resources Information System staff ensuring the team possesses the skills necessary to optimize Human Resource processes, procedures and services.

Create, update, test and complete changes to the Time Management, Personnel Administration and Organizational Management modules of the SAP HR System that includes configuring and testing system rules, schema modifications adhering to the requirements of the Collective Agreements and Ministry directives.

Lead, plan and coordinate the activities of assigned projects related to HR System changes to meet Collective Agreements requirements, Board processes and Ministry directives.

Strategic planning of Human Resources Information Systems, developing Human Resources business process requirements, as well as interpret legislative and Ministry directives related to Human Resources Information System in collaboration with other departments.

Lead projects with key stakeholders to develop and/or enhance Human Resources programs, as well as recommend, develop and implement effective change processes and automation integration that align with department objectives and the Board’s Multi Year Strategic Plan.

Research and validate any SAP HR system upgrades or patches as well as recommend and implement advances and processes in SAP functionality as it relates to Human Resources.

Create and execute complex reports that includes conducting needs assessments with stakeholders, reviewing required criteria and validating data output.

Expertly advises and supports managers regarding Human Resources systems related matters as well as provide guidance to Board committees regarding HR system issues as required.

Qualifications and Experience :

Post-Secondary in Business, Systems, Human Resources or related discipline.

5+ year related experience in Human Resources Information Systems, specifically in SAP.

Experience managing staff and streamlining processes.

Broad experience in Payroll and/or Human Resources in both union and non-union settings.

Familiar with recruitment, staffing and disability management software.

Skills and Competencies :

Excellent leadership and ability to motivate teams and individuals to reach their full potential.

Strong attention to detail.

Superior writing skills to assist with effective project plans, reports and financial analyses.

Excellent project management skills.
