Invites applications for the position of:
Manager Software, Database and Web Applications
Exempt Level 7a
$116,189.00 to $137,072 per annum
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the Manager of Software, Database and Web Applications will lead and direct multiple teams in the design, development, delivery and support of multiple software, databases and web applications in support of the YCDSB Multi-Year Strategic Plan.
Major Responsibilities:
Manage, lead and mentor a team of professionals on data analysis, business intelligence and dashboard reporting as well as create, innovate and deliver software and technological solutions for academic and business strategic commitments.
Manage, motivate and lead functional teams by ensuring the team possesses the necessary resources, professional learning and support to deliver technological solutions for academic and business strategic commitments.
Manage all activities including the analysis, development, design, implementation, testing and training related to software, databases and web applications.
Oversee and manage new applications, major releases and enhancements ensuring proper and timely transition to production in compliance with the Board and Information Systems policies and procedures.
Oversee and monitor the development, design, and implementation of all Board websites adhering to web technical standards, board branding, accessibility (AODA) and board policies.
Develop and maintain an annual operating and capital budget for software, database and web applications.
Develop, implement and maintain department policies, procedures and software documentation to ensure the protection of the Board’s assets and the integrity, security and privacy of information.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent of 5 or more years advanced knowledge of software development, end user support, database management and web applications.
Experience managing and leading multiple projects at once.
Skills and Competencies:
Established expertise in developer tools or software development lifecycle (SDLC) systems.
Knowledge of server virtualization, server hardware, networking and operating systems.
Excellent leadership and ability to motivate teams and individuals to reach their full potential.
Proven experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions.
Leadership experience in all stages of the software development lifecycle.
Excellent global competency skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and innovation.
Knowledge and understanding of School Board operations.
