SAP Project Manager

(1 Year Term)

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the SAP Project Manager will oversee the Board’s upgrade from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring the project, ensuring that it meets the Board’s objectives, budget, and timeline. The role will also lead the change management efforts, ensuring that stakeholders are engaged, informed, and prepared for the transition.

The successful candidate will work closely with Board functional staff (Superusers and Management) and Board technical staff (ABAP and BASIS), as well as a to-be-selected implementation partner. The role will support the Board’s functional superusers in realizing process improvements where possible within the project plan, and support in making business process recommendations that will assist the Board in taking full advantage of the SAP S/4HANA offering.

Major Responsibilities:

Define the project scope, objectives, and deliverables, in collaboration with implementation partner, senior management and key stakeholders.

Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, schedule, and budget, and track the progress and performance of the project.

Manage the project risks, issues, and dependencies, and implement appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.

Coordinate and communicate with the project team, vendors, and consultants, and ensure that they have the necessary resources, guidance, and support. Coordinate schedules in partnership with leaders/managers to meet project milestones.

Coordinates all other functional areas of the project (e.g., documenting test cases for the technical lead, developing presentations in partnership with department managers).

Lead the change management activities, including stakeholder analysis, communication plan, training plan, and readiness assessment.

Facilitate the change adoption and transition and ensure that the benefits and value of the project are realized and sustained.

Report on the project status, achievements, and challenges, and provide regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders.

Ensure that the project follows the best practices, standards, and methodologies, and complies with the quality and governance requirements.

Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes.

Review, address, and resolve concerns related to various project initiatives with appropriate staff as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Management, Information Technology, Computer Science or Advanced College Diploma in Computer Technology or related field

At least 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in SAP ECC6 and SAP S/4HANA projects.

Strong knowledge and understanding of SAP ECC6 and SAP S/4HANA, and their functionalities, features, and benefits.

Experience with SAP Upgrades and Migrations (from ECC to S/4HANA preferred), having completed such projects in the past

Expertise in change management, and the ability to drive and facilitate change across the organization.

PMP or Project Management Certifications

Proficiency in managing cross-functional teams

Attentive to details and ability to multi-task to meet deadlines

Effective communication and team collaboration skills

Strong working knowledge of Google Suite products (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Sites, Mail and Drive)

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.

Experience with SAP ABAP, SAP Fiori, SAP HANA an asset
