Reporting to the Software Director, the Software Project Engineer will be responsible for the organization, coordination, and control of all stages of assigned projects. The SW Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in project development by being the main interface between the SW Tools Engineering team and other groups within our company. Projects involve software development of tools used to develop, support or train to use our certified aircraft systems.

HOW DOES THE SOFTWARE PROJECT ENGINEER CONTRIBUTE TO OUR SUCCESS?

  • Co-ordinate the preparation of Engineering Estimates and Development Plans;
  • Interface with engineering project teams in order to respect budget, schedule and ensure quality deliveries;
  • Execute the engineering project plan, which includes identifying and anticipating problems that could hinder or adversely limit the project's objectives;
  • Work with other departments such as Program Management, Certification, Safety & Reliability, Quality and Manufacturing;
  • Evaluation of technical risk, and ensuring that mitigation and contingency plans exist;
  • Software Project Engineers in our SW Tools group are responsible for the on-time delivery of the completed project, taking responsibility for the projects technical and management aspects.

TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management in the field of avionics or military products;
  • Demonstrated success in the execution and leadership of engineering projects requiring cost and schedule performance management and risk management;
  • Demonstrate strong capabilities in Microsoft Windows 10 application development with real-time and memory management considerations and some background in Lean Software Development practices along with a willingness to learn.
  • Requires a strong technical background in Software Development using C++, prior work with RTCA DO-330 would be a strong asset.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering or Computer Science an advantage, along with experience in hardware or software design in the field of avionics or military products.
  • French/English bilingualism
