The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

3M is seeking an Electrician to join its manufacturing team located in Perth, ON. The successful candidate will make an impact by providing daily support and technical assistance for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of highly technical automated equipment; and, additionally, the development of maintenance procedures and techniques to support safe, reliable and efficient manufacturing operations. This opportunity will require shift work as well as on-call after hours and weekend support.

• Supporting manufacturing operations in electrical controls, programming, software, and application support to automation, robotics, vision, motion control, PLC, and SCADA systems

• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and systems adhering to established schedules

• Troubleshooting manufacturing issues, equipment modification/design/fabrication, and providing emergency maintenance

• Identifying, recommending, and implementing ideas in the manufacturing area of responsibility to improve:

  • Safety

  • Product cost, service, and quality

  • Environmental performance with emphasis on waste reduction

  • Equipment Reliability

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Licensed Electrician

• Must reside in Canada

• Available for shift work as well as on-call after-hours and weekend support

• Minimum 3 (three) years of industrial experience.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Effective "Hands On" techniques

• Ability to analyze, problem-solve and implement solutions

• Innovation skills to generate new ideas or alternative solutions

• Works well on cross-functional teams in a continuous improvement (LEAN) environment

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Travel: May include up to 10%

Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship for employment visa
