This position will provide advanced administrative support to patients, members of the public and staff within Cancer Care Alberta's Provincial Cancer Patient Navigation Program. Overall, the roles and responsibilities include patient-facing and non-patient facing duties. This position is the first point of contact and triage for the Navigation program and handles all inquiries either in person, on the phone or through electronic chart and messaging. This position often deals with difficult client and operational issues consistent with applicable processes, procedures and guidelines. This position works with minimal to no supervision daily making decisions to provide appropriate patient and family care. This position must possess enhanced computer, Connect Care and program skills to complete daily operations. Maintaining calm, supportive, and respectful communication when interacting with distressed and/or stressed patients and staff with multiple demands will be instrumental to this role as well as directing them to the appropriate resources, clinicians or services as needed. This position manages various complex schedules with multiple stakeholders and demands enhanced problem-solving skills, decision making and time management skills and requires a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Non-patient facing duties include ordering supplies, supporting new staff members with daily processes, information technology support and troubleshooting, directing urgent concerns to the immediate attention of the manager, providing calendar management, records management, completing monthly connect care downtime reports and supporting staff during Connect Care downtime. This position processes payroll assists staff with expense claims, process billing transactions through Markview and mail and submits them to the lead/manager and/or accounts payable.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Formal administrative office experience. Medical terminology. Five or more years of progressive responsibility in this area of work. Required Organizational Learning: MSI Injury Prevention, WHS Ergonomics, Infocare: On Our Best Behaviors, Code Red, Ethics & Compliance, Working Safely, Patient Relations, EPIC-GEN120 Documenting Gender, Sex and Sexual Orientation. Minimum of a post-secondary diploma in office, business or medical administration is required, preferably healthcare related.

Excellent skills in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), Zoom, MS Teams, Aria (read only), Connect Care and Netcare. Minimum two years administrative experience in a hospital or outpatient clinic setting.
