Description
This Primary Care Alberta (PCA) Administrative Support V position within the Dept of Family Medicine (DFM) Postgraduate Program and is based in Calgary at the Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre (SMCHC). The Curriculum Program Coordinator is a key administrative role and is vital in developing successful working relationships all our Residents in the Family Medicine (FM) Program, 10 core Leaders, and over 400 community-based Family Physician teachers. This Coordinator is the “face” of FM to key partners and learners. This Coordinator is responsible for planning and delivering core activities that include academics and curricular planning, coordinating, scheduling, document management, and procedure development. This position is complex, guided by multiple intricate guidelines of the FM Residency Program. The incumbent must balance significant competing demands, frequently shifting priorities and extremely important deadlines. The incumbent must exercise excellent judgment and superior resourcefulness in the performance of daily activities and in the escalation of issues appropriately. In-depth knowledge and expertise are required regarding the policies, procedures, and educational standards of the Calgary Residency Program, University of Calgary Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), the Professional Association of Residents of Alberta (PARA) and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). This position will be part of Primary Care Alberta effective November 18, 2024. As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).
As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program. Advanced MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and MS Outlook. Exceptional oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to build relationships with various stakeholders. Demonstrated expertise in data management, reporting, and statistical analysis. Proven accuracy and attention to detail, creativity, and resourcefulness.
Experience in Medical Residency Program administration or related experience in a highly responsible administrator role, preferably in an academic or clinical environment. Demonstrated competence in time management, strong planning and organizational skills, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision and an aptitude for problem solving.
