Description
We welcome you to come and join our Cardiology department within the newly built Grande Prairie Regional Hospital (GPRH). GPRH serves a city population of 70,000 as well as the surrounding towns and hamlets within the North Zone. Grande Prairie has a great deal to offer with jobs, shopping centers, sports, multiple schools, Polytechnical campus, outdoor activities and much more. It is one of the fastest growing cities in Alberta and does not show any signs of slowing down. The Cardiology department is made up of enthusiastic and dedicated staff who share enormous pride in their work to support clients and the community daily. We are working towards expanding services and growing to match the needs of our increasing and aging population. Edmonton is only a 4.5-hour drive east for quick weekend getaways in the big city. Come and experience the wonders of the North! In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As a Cardiology Technologist, you will participate in the establishment of standards, goals and objectives and provide expertise in the selection and evaluation of new equipment. You will provide cardiology technology expertise for trans disciplinary case management and perform pacemaker technology functions on a regular ongoing basis.
Completion of certificate from an accredited school of Cardiology Technology. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta Society of Registered Cardiology Technologist (ASRCT). Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Require greater than 3 years as a Cardiology tech I; knowledgeable on performing stress testing, monitors (BP, Holter, Event) and good communicator (close working relation with physicians). Training and recognized certification on devices (ICD) - comparable to BCIT Device certification program.
Experience in a device clinic setting.
