If you are looking for an opportunity to support the growth and development of expert Nursing practice in Rural Acute Healthcare, this may be the opportunity for you! This is an exciting opportunity to support South Zone Rural Nursing staff to achieve and maintain education requirements, develop practical patient care skills, enhance team communication to provide safe and effective patient care and support the development of Rural Nursing expertise. The Instructor - CNE role supports individual self-learning practices, didactic workshops & in-services, virtual education and team-based simulation practice. In collaboration with rural Site Managers, Assistant Head Nurses and Zone leadership, you will work to identify education needs, ensure the effective delivery of education and provide education program evaluation at rural sites across the South Zone. The CNE collaborates with the leadership team around quality improvement strategies and facilitates appropriate educational activities and process changes. The CNE collaborates with the health care team at the unit, department, site, zone, and provincial level.

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). BN or BScN from an approved Nursing Education institution. Active registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). 5 Years Rural Nursing Clinical Experience including Emergency Department, Acute Care. Demonstrated ability and expertise in preceptorship of new staff or students. Demonstrated time management skills in the presence of short deadlines.

MN preferred. Experience in the provision of education using simulation. Education and experience in the provision of adult education in the workplace. Demonstrated self-learning and continuous professional development Experience with leading or participating in quality improvement projects, implementation of new practices in the workplace. Ability to flex or adapt to changing stakeholder needs. OR experience an asset. OB experience an asset.
