Reporting to the Central Zone Director of Interprofessional Practice and Education, the eHealth Educator is accountable for the preparation and delivery of interRAI education (interRAI Contact Assessment, interRAI-HC, and/or interRAI LTCF) within the Clinical Information System (Connect Care). Examples include: education to Case Managers, professional and non-professional clinical staff members for initial/continuing education to ensure clinician ability, use of standardized clinical terminology, interpretation of clinical assessment outcomes and input into the interRAI suite for tools and electronic care planning. This position supports the sustainment of the integrity of the clinical assessment process including auditing, improving and maintaining the quality of the assessment data being submitted to Alberta Health to ensure appropriate funding for optimal care of seniors. This position develops and utilizes data auditing tools, creates, deploys and evaluates program delivery, and generates/analyzes standardized reports for leadership. The interRAI/CIS Educator will also familiarize new managers to interRAI processes and eLiteracy, apply educational components in regard to the appropriate CIS; and audit, support, and coach staff in knowledge transfer to ensure staff have the skills required to meet the continuing care health service standards. The Educator will use standardized clinical terminology, their professional competency, and the organizational goals based on the Coordinated Access Policy. A variety of strategies will be used to accommodate learning needs. Although this position is posted ‘at or out of’ Red Deer, the location is negotiable dependent on the successful applicant.

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Baccalaureate degree. Strong understanding of Seniors Health business operations, processes and policies in Home Care and/or Long Term Care. Demonstrates expertise in deployment, adoption and sustainability of the CIS to align with excellence in clinical practice and quality patient outcomes. Minimum of 5 years of recent seniors’ health experience required. Current CRNA registration in good standing. Must have working knowledge of the interRAI instruments currently in use within Seniors Health (interRAI-CA, interRAI-HC, interRAI LTCF). Ability to present clinical data and educate adult learners. Strong working knowledge of the CIS system. The successful applicant will be creative, motivated and demonstrates initiative and a progressive record of leadership. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position. Must be able to work independently and within a virtual team.

Masters preparation an asset. Strong working knowledge of Connect Care including Slicer/Dicer; and Microsoft Office (MS Excel an asset). Knowledge and experience of other software is an asset. Knowledge and use of applications for virtual meetings or webinar sessions that enables distance learning and support an asset (i.e. Teams, Zoom). Past data review experience an asset. Past educator/instructor experience. Previous training as a Connect Care Superuser.
