Rockyview General Hospital Pulmonary Function Laboratory is a unique, energetic team staffing a center of excellence in the province, providing Cardio-Pulmonary Exercise Testing as well as other pulmonary diagnostic testing. This team is seeking a casual Kinesiologist to join the team providing more annual CPET testing than any other site in the province.

As a Kinesiologist, you may be working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, utilizing evidence-based and client-centred practice. You may be performing assessment of exercise tolerance for the purpose of developing, implementing, evaluating and maintaining appropriate exercise prescriptions/programs as well as referring patients (clients, residents) appropriately to other healthcare programs and/or services. You will take a health promotion perspective, providing self-management support and guiding the patient towards achieving improvements in their health and physical functioning by conducting pre-participation evaluations, screening of health status, and outcome measurement tests. You may be developing, supervising, monitoring and modifying the exercise programs, supervising clients both individually and in a group-focused program, and providing education to clients and their families.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, or equivalent exercise science degree. Current Clinical Exercise Physiologist to (CSEP) or the American College of Sports Medicine's Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP).

Minimum of 1 year within the last 4 years, experience with exercise testing. Minimum 2 years working in kinesiology. Demonstrated ability to function independently and within a team environment. Strong leadership, coaching, problemsolving, critical thinking and decision-making skills. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment with long periods of standing and active fine motor effort, supporting patient movement, and where constant walking, lifting and bending are required. Competence with typing and clinical/scheduling software required. Must be available for weekday casual shifts.
