The Clinical Informatics Lead (CIL) provides leadership and expertise in the development, deployment, and adoption of clinical information systems (CIS) in support of Recovery Alberta's mission, vision, and goals. The CIL performs tasks in the following areas: Facilitating the optimal use of current and future CIS. Preparing teams for CIS launch, which includes nonmedical device assessments, facilitating the completion of launch readiness tasks with department leaders. Supporting Recovery Alberta departments post-lunch, which requires in-depth working knowledge of CIS functionality across the continuum of Recovery Alberta including inpatient, ambulatory, and recovery/detox departments. Working directly with staff and physicians to utilize the CIS in their day-to-day workflows, which includes troubleshooting problems and escalating issues through IT and other CC partners. Collaborating with stakeholders (e.g., local, provincial, CC Partners) to design and optimize the CIS. The CIL must develop strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to enable the CIS to support excellence in clinical practice and support quality patient outcomes. The CIL combines knowledge of CIS related systems and an in-depth knowledge of clinical operations to enable integration and optimization of the features of CIS applications into clinical workflows at the point of care. The CIL provides timely troubleshooting within assigned portfolios as well as engages in strategic training to introduce new or existing CIS features to clinical staff and physicians. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or health informatics related discipline. Minimum of 5 (five) years healthcare experience in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Minimum 2 (two) years of experience working with clinical information systems. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.

Must have previous experience working with Connect Care. Competence and experience with initiating and fostering positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support clinical operations and facilitate change. Competence and experience in areas of complex problem solving, negotiation, and concerns/conflict resolution. Capacity to think systematically and critically to balance the needs of frontline clinicians while also continuing to advance overarching CIS-related strategies and initiatives. Capacity to organize, track, and follow-up on multiple projects across short- and long-term time periods. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience with knowledge transfer and adult education principles. Knowledge and experience in facilitating change. A master’s degree in a healthcare or health informatics related discipline. Experience working with Mental Health and Addiction programs. A clinical background providing direct patient care. Registration as a healthcare professional.
