Description
We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse with experience in patient-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-based care to join the Medicine Hat Recovery Centre Team in Medicine Hat, Alberta. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions within the knowledge and scope of practice of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta. Reporting to the Manager of the Medicine Hat Recovery Centre, the LPN works as part of a multi-disciplinary team and provides recovery-oriented services to clients struggling with complex addiction issues. The LPN has skills in risk assessments, completing assessments and screenings for clients to determine eligibility to the facility as well as, physical and mental health stability, treatment planning and monitoring of clients physical and addiction/mental health issues. The LPN is required to work collaboratively with community agencies, pharmacies, physicians and psychiatrists. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
As required.
Experience in Addiction & Mental Health Services. Experience with Connect Care preferred.
