The Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray has a rare opportunity for an individual to provide guidance as a Unit Manager, supporting a diverse portfolio covering Ambulatory Care, Cancer Centre, Endoscopy and Outpatient Booking departments. The team is looking for a manager who can support them in their continued growth to provide exceptional patient and family centred care. Your communications skills are used to build and foster relationships with the multidisciplinary team, key stakeholders, volunteers, staff, patients, and families. You guide and mentor the staff in evidence-based practices and the AHS Values in their daily task and the care provided. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. The Unit Manager of Ambulatory Care, Cancer Centre, Outpatient Booking, and Endoscopy performs a leadership role within each department and reports directly to the Director of Patient Care. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization over the activities of the patient care service in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. In addition, this position is responsible for making key decisions and direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievements of the patient care service goals specific to Ambulatory Care, Cancer Centre, Outpatient Booking, and Endoscopy. The Unit Manager of Ambulatory Care, Cancer Centre, Outpatient Booking, and Endoscopy is also responsible for: Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders. Facilitating change management, promoting team development, teamwork and coordinating staffing and clinical work as identified by the Director within the services area. The development and maintenance of an effective framework for the operations of the patient care service in order to facilitate the delivery of efficient, effective and safe patient care.

A minimum of Baccalaureate Degree in a healthcare related field with appropriate licences. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role with experience in Ambulatory Care. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Connect Care, MS Systems.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member and make decisions in a complex interdisciplinary environment. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Ability to foster partnerships to achieve organizational goals. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals.

Master of Nursing or related healthcare field. 3-5 years managerial experience of Ambulatory Care desired. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. A record of accomplishment in the following areas: Leadership of organizational change. Proficient with financial and statistical applications.
